Baptism

Holy Cross – Immaculata Parish wants to help you make your child’s baptism a meaningful event. We hope that you will receive the information in a spirit of openness and reverence as you prepare to have your child receive the first Sacrament of Initiation of the Catholic Church. We expect the parents and Godparents to be active participants in the baptismal rite. The links below include an overview of the theology of the Sacrament of Baptism as well as an explanation of the order of the ceremony.

Thank you for your participation in this process. Please complete the baptism registration to begin planning for your child's baptism. May this preparation make your child’s baptism a truly joyful and spirit filled event!

HCI Parish Baptism Policy

SCHEDULING

  • To begin, parents should complete the baptism registration two to three months in advance of the desired date for a baptism. (flexible)
  • During the Seasons of Advent, Christmas (excluding the Baptism of the Lord), and Lent – Baptisms are generally not scheduled and must have the permission of the Pastor and be celebrated outside of Mass.
  • Baptisms occur after Saturday 4:00pm or Sunday 11:00am Mass. We will (but rarely do) schedule more than one child per baptism.
  • In order to assist us in being prepared for the day of the baptism, we ask that all supporting documentation be turned into the parish at least two weeks prior to the date of the baptism.
